Fireboy and Watergirl Forest Temple
The original 2009 Forest Temple release in its browser Flash version. Fireboy crosses lava, Watergirl crosses water, and both must reach their matching doors.
The original 2009 Forest Temple game in its browser Flash version. Fireboy crosses lava, Watergirl crosses water, and both must reach their matching doors across 32 levels.
Fireboy and Watergirl in the Forest Temple is Oslo Albet’s defining 2009 collaborative platformer. Cross 32 elemental chambers using shared keyboard controls: Fireboy wades through lava, Watergirl glides over water, and green toxic sludge kills both.
Both characters run concurrently on a single shared keyboard. Player 1 steers Fireboy using the arrow keys, while Player 2 directs Watergirl with W, A, and D.
Communication over speed: Weighted floor buttons deactivate the moment a character steps off. One player must hold the pressure plate while the partner crosses the trap door.
Wall levers stay flipped once pulled, while pushable stone boxes can be shoved onto buttons or used as stepping stones over acid pits.
The 32 stages ramp up in puzzle complexity. Early trials teach basic pool crossing, mid-tier rooms introduce mirror light beams, and final chambers require synchronized parkour jumps.
This original 2009 release runs smoothly in modern web browsers via HTML5 and Ruffle Flash emulation. No downloads or installations required.
